How to delegate nameservers in LACNIC?

If you are planning to lease your subnet (sometimes also called as IP range or prefix) on Heficed’s Additional IPs section, you would first need to change the delegation for this prefix to Heficed’s nameservers, which would enable rDNS to be controlled via Terminal.

From MiLacnic management, portal delegation can be set for /16 or /24.

To set custom nameservers for rDNS delegation at LACNIC follow the steps below:

IP/ASN
  • Click Delegate rDNS in a master prefix dashboard:
Delegate rDNS
  • In the list, find block for management and click Delegate button to create delegation or Edit to alter
  • Set Primary to ns8.heficed.com, alternate to ns9.heficed.com and click “Next” by completing all steps:
Edit nameservers

After completing all the steps, your nameservers delegation in LACNIC should be successful!
