User and System Backups

System backup is a safety disk image snapshot made by the Heficed automation system. The number of system backups depends on your SLA plan.

The primary purpose of a backup is to provide an additional layer of data security in case the file system is lost and no user-configured backup exists. Snapshots are taken for all attached disks, including the root (system) disk. Access to the backup can be arranged by our Technical Support team. These backups can only be restored by the Heficed team.

During system backup, your service will not be locked, shut down, or interrupted in another way. All tasks and commands performed via the Terminal will be queued and managed after the backup is completed.

User backup is a snapshot made by a user. During the backup process, your service will be available; however, its management will be locked in the Terminal until the backup is completed.
